LC/LA to Help Sponsor World AIDS Hollywood
At its September meeting, the Steering Committee voted to underwrite expenses for a community event Sunday, December 2, in observance of World AIDS Day.
World AIDS Hollywood will feature original new music, combined choirs, and street procession with banners and torches. Three panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will also be on display for the event and throughout the week. The names of those we have lost to this disease will be read, with a candle lit for every name.

The World AIDS Hollywood event will be held at Hollywood Lutheran Church, 1733 N. New Hampshire Avenue in Hollywood, beginning at 4:30. For full information, see the event's new website, www.WorldAIDSHollywood.org.

LC/LOS ANGELES and Reconciling Congregations had a "Big Fat" Presence at CSW Pride Weekend
LC/Los Angeles had a "big fat" presence during the Christopher Street West Pride weekend, June 9-10, in West Hollywood. A marching group from the 12 RIC congregations walked in the Parade, with Bishop Emeritus Rev. Dr. Paul Egertson and his wife Shirley riding in a convertible.
The day began with a joint Episcopal/Lutheran "street eucharist" in the Bank of America parking lot at Santa Monica Blvd. and Crescent Heights, with Pastor Jim Boline presiding.
During the festival in West Hollywood, on both Saturday and Sunday, Lutherans Concerned co-sponsored a triple booth with St. Matthew's (North Hollywood) and Hollywood Lutheran Churches. The theme of the booth was "My Big Fat Gay Church Wedding" with a minitature wedding chapel. See the full story on our "Features" page.
